Stretch Marks Treatment

Also called as Striae in dermatological terms, Stretch Marks occurs when the skin is stretched too quickly resulting in tears leaving behind marks that are called Stretch Marks. They most commonly occur around the stomach area, breasts, thighs and hips and both men and women are prone to suffer from them.

Normally they are harmless, but the trouble occurs when the body keeps growing at a rate that the skin cannot cope with leading to breakdown of the stretched stretch marks. These concerns grow in the warmer seasons as the amount of our bodies' increases. In women, stretch marks are most commonly associated with pregnancy but are also a normal part of puberty: In case of men, body building or quick weight gain result in stretch marks.

Stretch Marks in the beginning of their growth appear as reddish purple lines, indented and maintain a different texture to the surrounding skin. As time passes by, the discoloration subsides, the color turns lighter and less noticeable.

There are two processes used to treat Stretch Marks. One is the usage of Derma Roller instrument that possess the amazing ability to naturally stimulate collagen and elastin production in the skin, without damaging it – therefore helping to get rid of stretch marks.

Another treatment is usage of Laser Skin Tightening that beams laser energy on the affected part resulting in the laser energy touching upon the deep layers of the skin, causing the collagen to tighten, helping the skin to contract. This treatment provides for a natural healing process that helps to stimulate fresh, healthy tissue, resulting in smoother skin.

Healing varies considerably from individual to individual, and some heal more effectively and faster than others.
